Neon and Bright Classroom Decor

Well, it's done and ready for students!  Take a tour of my classroom below.  It's full of neon and bright classroom decor!  Feel free to pin the vertical picture at the bottom to save for later.

The front of my classroom:

The numbers are from Amy Lemons. I lined my whiteboard with colored duct tape and then a border.

You can see in this picture that I took the legs off of my small group table so that the kiddos can sit on the floor around the table.  It saves room and lots of noise, not to mention helps with the "wiggles". You can get a great view of the neon and bright classroom decor from this angle - I love it!

My small group area in front of the ActivBoard.  My teacher desk is pushed up against the wall...who sits down at their desk anyway?!  :)

My CAFE and Daily 5 Board were created to complement my Bright Classroom Decor pack. My cute neon baskets from Dollar Tree.  Beanbags are from Walmart.

Technology and Classroom Library:

At the technology table we have 3 iPads and 5 iPod Touch devices.  I keep them in the little drawers on the table.  Headphones are in the green box.  The Acceptable Use Policy Posters can be found for FREE at Soaring Through Second Grade.

  1. Your classroom looks FABulous....very organized, color coordinated and easy mobility! I realize that I have A LOT to do yet in my classroom. When do you start school? I might have to lower my round table and make some color crate seats. :)

  4. Hi Jamie,
I’m your newest follower! I am in an OCD-dream seeing how everything is all matchy-matchy! I've been teaching since 1992, so making all of my tubs match would be WAY too expensive. :) I am a Newbie Blogger, so I appreciate all of the sharing of advice and ideas. Come on over for a visit sometime. Thanks!

  7. I LOVE the colors - especially the way the pink pops on your bulletin boards. I have too many red things to pull it off, so I have had to stick with a lot of primary colors. Thank you for sharing your classroom pics :)

  9. Holy mother of all things BRIGHT!! I am sooo in love with your classroom. Can I have it? Or atleast be one of your students?? You are sooo organized and I love the bright bins and crates from the Dollar Tree. I actually saw them there myself but since I am just beginning my journey in school, I figured it would be a little early to start buying them and having to find storage for them. (Now I feel like I NEED them anyway).

Im hosting my very first linky party... it's A Teacher's style linky. I would love for you to join the party!!

  15. I love all the little areas you have set up. I'm going to be homeschooling this year (pre-k and 7th grade) and while we were shopping for supplies yesterday at Target, I fell in LOVE with these dorm bean-bag chairs. I thought they'd be awesome for the reading corner set up by the bookshelf, but I wondered if it would just bring on the wiggles. (Our spinny chair had to go for this reason!) Have you used bean bag chairs in previous years? Do they work well? Because as soon as I got home without them, I was second-guessing myself! lol

  38. I am sooo jealous of your room. I teach in one of the oldest schools in the county, and in two years we will be moving into a new school. I would love to be this organized. I have tried to pull in some color. I painted the inside of my classroom door in primary colors, and I have a long primary green 2shelf bookshelf similar to your brown one at the front of your room. Can I send you pictures of my room and get some suggestions on what I could do? I am a color fanatic, and do not mind spending money on my classroom. However, I don't think my room is as big as yours. PLease help.My email address is sjamesses@gmail.com

  51. Your room is so cute and looks very organized. This year, I have moved to 2nd grade from kindergarten. I am so excited but scared at the same time. I was wanting to know what he baskets on the desk were. They have two cups and two containers with lids. What are those for? Also, how does C.A.F.E. work?

  54. I love your classroom and more so your rotation. I'm actually doing the same thing for my Math (8 rotations - 4 groups) and same way M/W & T/Th. My question to you is where and how do you display your rotations for it to not be confusing for the children?

  55. Your classroom looks fantastic! We have a "Brownie Pan" in my classroom too! It's so simple, and yet such a powerful motivator! I'm curious about where you got the bookshelves that are underneath your ActivBoard. I'm desperate for some shelving underneath my SmartBoard, but I can't seem to find any that are the right height!
